OECD report links student AI use to lower academic performance
Data from a global OECD education study indicates that students who turn to AI for studying tend to get worse academic results than peers who do not. The relationship is not uniform, however, as some specific ways of using these tools were associated with modest gains, particularly for those who received instruction on how to use them. The findings suggest that how AI is used in learning matters more than whether it is used at all.
